The Society of Christian Ethics seeks a two-person team to serve as Co-Editors of the Journal of the Society of Christian Ethics (JSCE) for a five-year term, from January 2027-January 2032. The search for the next Co-Editors is now open.

Among other professional benefits, Co-Editors receive an annual stipend from the SCE as well as travel and lodging for the January Annual Meeting.

The Co-Editors play an important role in shaping the SCE, its Annual Meeting, and the academy at large.

  • As standing members of the Annual Meeting Program Committee, the Co-Editors influence the content of the Annual Meeting by vetting paper proposals—the first review for potential publication in the JSCE.
  • As Co-Editors, they maintain and appoint new members to the Editorial Board (EB) of the JSCE, as well as a Book Review Editor.
  • They assign referees (members of the EB and other SCE volunteers) to papers presented at the Annual Meeting by authors who wish to have their papers considered for the JSCE—the second review for publication.
  • From referees’ reports and their own assessments, they determine acceptance for publication—the third and final review.
  • The Co-Editors produce two issues per year; book reviews included in each issue are under the purview of the Book Review Editor.
